Wicomico County and the State of Maryland offer a variety of financing programs to meet the needs of the business community. These include loans, loan guarantees, equity participation, bond issuance and venture capital investments. Among considerations for allocating financing is the potential for job creation and job retention, the level of capital investment, the return on capital investment, and the strengthening of key industry sectors.
In addition, SWED serves as a referral source for federal programs offered through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
